What we believe
We are a Christian Church, believing in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The highest authority for what we believe and do is God’s word in the Bible. Within the United Reformed Church (URC) we regard everyone as being of equal status, and we all share in responsibility for the life and witness of the church.
We baptise babies, children, and adults. There are 100,000 URC worshippers in England, Wales, and Scotland. Throughout the world over 70 million Christians are members of the Reformed family of churches, which forms the largest Protestant tradition. |
The URC formed from the union of Congregationalists in England, Wales and Scotland, Presbyterians in England, and the Reformed Churches of Christ.
Many URCs are united with other denominations, and we continue to seek still greater unity. Here in Banstead we work closely with other denominations through the Banstead Five Churches. Click here to see our Statement concerning Nature, Faith and Order of the URC. |
